The "Zodiac Sparkle" Christmas Tree at The Langham, Hong Kong | NYGDESIGN
In 2023, during the Christmas season, THE LANGHAM presents a Christmas tree named "Zodiac Sparkle" to light up the warmth of winter and open up the hope of the new year.The “Zodiac Sparkle” was designed by us, NYGDESIGN, a creative collective in the Greater Bay Area from Shenzhen.The design team was inspired by "everyone has his or her own zodiac guardian star" and incorporated elements of the zodiac sign and the ten planets into the design to create a magic Christmas tree full of hope and guardian energy.
Structurally, dozens of dazzling light bulbs were arranged, with the ten guardian stars corresponding to the twelve zodiac signs designed as transparent light bulbs, showcasing the orbit of the planets inside. The golden light bulbs clustered around the guardian stars, creating a sense of protection and being protected. Adorning the top of the Christmas tree was a star falling from the sky, symbolizing human hope and goodness, always bringing inspiration and blessings to people.This Christmas tree is not only enchanting and dazzling but also interactive, sustainable, and meaningful. When we use our phone's light to interact with the Christmas tree, we can trigger a "moment of wishing." When the wishing shooting star at the top of the tree blinks continuously, it signifies that wishes are about to come true. It is worth mentioning that each wishing light bulb will be transformed into a lamp after the display ends, and all proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Hong Kong Women's Foundation to improve the lives of women and young girls from all walks of life in Hong Kong.
2023年圣诞之际，NYGDESIGN为香港朗廷酒店呈现了一颗名为“流光星座”的圣诞树，点亮冬日的温暖，开启新年的希望。设计灵感来源于“每个人都有属于自己的星座守护星”，将星座、十大行星的元素融入设计中，创造出一棵充满希望和守护能量的神奇圣诞树。
在结构上，数十颗绚烂夺目的光球排列，将十二星座对应的十大守护星设计为透明的光球，内部还原了行星的运行轨迹。通体金灿的光球簇拥在守护星周围，营造出一种守护与被守护的关系。点缀在圣诞树顶的，是一颗从天际划落的星，它是人类希望、美好的象征，总是能够带给人们鼓舞和祝愿。这颗圣诞树不仅是梦幻璀璨的，更是带有互动性、可持续性及别具意义。当我们用手机灯光感应圣诞树，便可触发“许愿时刻”，树顶的许愿流星连续闪烁时，意味着愿望即将实现。值得一提的是，每一个许愿星光球在展示结束后将会改造成灯具，通过拍卖的形式将所有所得捐赠予香港妇女基金会，改善香港各阶层妇女及青少年女性的生活。
